| Abstract/Contents: | "Eighty-one turf-type bermudagrass varieties were screened and ranked as to Fe-efficiency by visual color scores when the plants were grown in the greenhouse in a soil known to be Fe-deficient. Clipping weights were also measured. FB-49, Tifway and NMB10 were the best three varieties based on color score. Nine genotypes representing a range from low to high Fe-efficiency from the original 81, were then further evaluated for differences in Fe-efficiency at two pH levels and three added Fe levels. The nine genotypes responded similarly to pH change and applied iron on the basis of color score. The data indicate genotypes can be selected for Fe-efficiency." |
