Treatments included two applications of topramezone 3.65SC at 1 fl oz/acre + MSO, three applications of topramezone 2.8SC at 1.33 fl oz/acre + MSO, and sethoxydim 1EC applied twice at 2.25 pt/acre. Initial treatments were applied on June 26, 2012 and sequential applications were made on a three-week interval. Applications were made with CO2 pressured sprayers calibrated to deliver 25 gallons per acre. All treatments provided excellent (>90%) control of smooth crabgrass and injured bermudagrass. However, topramezone treatments provided <25% control of bermudagrass at 12 weeks after initial treatments while sethoxydim provided 50% control. Results suggest topramezone has potential to suppress bermudagrass in centipedegrass but long-term control could be inconsistent from exclusive treatments."
