Abstract/Contents:"The practical control method of 'Diazinon SL sol®', microencapsulated Diazinon formulation, was developed against larvae of cupreous chafer, Anomala cuprea Hope, in lawn field. High efficacy more than 90% was obtained at 80 days after treatment of microencapsulated Diazinon formulation under the following condition. (1) Lawn 'coring' of 12 mm in diameter before spray of microencapsulated Diazinon formulation dilute solution. (2) Spray 2l/m2 of dilute solution containing 4 ml/m2 of microencapsulated Diazinon formulation. (3) Against lawn surface, perpendicular spray of the diluted solution of microencapsulated Diazinon formulation. (4) Before or after the Diazinon treatment, spray of water 3l/m2 Control of larvae of cupreous chafer was proportioned to the concentration of the active ingredient in the soil located deeper than 1cm under the lawn. In early or middle June, only one treatment of microencapsulated Diazinon formulation on the lawn after 'coring', can suppress the infection of cupreous chafer larvae through the year. This method can provide the practical treatment with very economic and labor-saving properties for control of cupreous chafer larva in the lawnfield."
