Abstract/Contents:"Winter weed control in winter turfgrass management often requires the use of broadleafpost [broadleaf post] emergence herbecides [herbicides]. New broadleaf weed control agents and one pre-emergent were tested for potential effects on spring growth of Tifgreen bermudagrass turf. Iniial color, verdure and some discoloration were realized at 28 DAT from a single application on March 24, 1992. At (28 DAT), Turflon II-A- and Turflon II-E- had low initial color scores. Tifgreen showed decreased verdure of the initial herbicide application. These effects were short lived. After normal spring fertilization, there was enhanced green up of treated turfs, and verdure weights increased, and there was no treatment effect for verdure at (51 DAT). Dimension herbicide (pre-emergent), had a more latent discoloration effect, compared to the other post emergence weed control agents."
