| Abstract/Contents: | "The turf herbicides IMAGE (imazaquin), KERB (pronamide) and BUENO 6 6 6 (msma) were applied to overseeded Tifway turf in order to ascertain potential use as a management tool for favorable spring transition. KERB provided minimal reduction in ryegrass density counts, but caused some plot injury and visual density reduction. BUENO 6 had minimal to no effect for enhanced transition, when applied to the 2.0 lb ai/a rate. IMAGE caused slight changes in color and minimal to minor injury and ryegrass density counts at 14 days after treatment (DAT). After that, ryegrass density was less for IMAGE treated plots and was not rate dependent when cool weather prevailed 30 DAT. At the third and final evaluation at 51 DAT, IMAGE treatments tended to have the lowest ryegrass counts, which exhibited a slight rate dependency. Repeat applications at the .125 ai/A rate proved second only to performance of the single rate of 0.38 lb. ai/A." |
