Abstract/Contents:"Prostrate and spotted spurges are problematic weeds in turfs. With the loss of bromoxynil from the market place, newer broadleaf post emergence plant portectants were evaluated for late season injury to spotted spurge in low manintenance common bermudagrass turf. 2, 4-D showed the best control of chemicals tested at 14 days after treatment (DAT). TURFLON D (a mixture of triclopyr 2-4, D) caused slight to moderate injury at 14 and 21 DAT, which was slightly less than 2-4, D alone. IMPACT (quinclorac) had caused injury at 14 DAT, and 21 DAT. STINGER (clopyralid) had little effect on spurge. Flouroxypyr [Fluroxypyr] was not as affective as the triclopyr materials when applied at the 0.25 and 0.50 lb ai/a rates, but caused greater injury to spurge at the 0.35 lb ai/a rate. Treatments were excluded from some treatments to maintain turfgrass safety."
