| Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicides were evaluated at the Valentine Turfgrass Research Center, University Park, PA, on Kentucky bluegrass maintained under home lawn conditions. Individual plots, 3 ft x 10 ft, were arranged in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. Fungicides were applied with a CO2-powered boom sprayer, using T-jet 8004 nozzles, at 30 psi, in water equivalent to 2 gal per 1000 sq ft. With the exception of one treatment of Chipco 26019, each treatment application was followed by an immediate water wash-off at 4 gal per 1000 sq ft. After all applications (except the non-washed off Chipco 26019 treatment) had been made, the entire test area was irrigated with approximately 1/4 inch water. The remaining Chipco 26019 treatment was applied after irrigation to allow it to dry and remain on the foliage. Applications were made on 26 Apr, 23 May, 20 Jun, 19 Jul, and 15 Aug. Treatments were visually evaluated on 14 Aug. Data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance and Waller-Duncan K-ratio t test. Data from 17 May are presented. Disease pressure was high throughout the trial. Excellent control (>70%) was obtained with the standards, Dyrene, Vorlan, Tersan LSR, Manzate 200, and Chipco 26019; a mixture of Vorlan and Fungo; the new product, Pace; and the experimental fungicides, SAN 832F and CGA 455." |
