| Abstract/Contents: | "Three commercial fungicides were tested for their effectiveness in the control of snow mold (Sclerotinia borealis) on four varieties of Kentucky bluegrass during three winter seasons from 1960 to 1963 at College, Alaska. PCNB provided effective control on all varieties for 3 years, thiram provided moderate control of snow mold growth, and Thimer prevented damage to the turf but provided only moderate control of mycelial growth. Common Kentucky bluegrass was the most resistant to snow mold, followed in order by Park, Newport and Merion. Merion produced the most attractive lawn." |
