| Abstract/Contents: | "Nematocides applied to turf containing a mixture of 'Merion' Kentucky bluegrass and creeping red fescue reduced the number of parasitic nematodes in soil around roots. Clipping weights from plots receiving O,O-diethyl O-p-(methylsulfinyl)phenyl phosphorothioate, at the suggested rate and at double the dosage, were significantly increased. Clippings from all plots receiving fertilizer outweighed the clippings from any of the nematocide treatments. Root growth was stimulated by some of the nematocides." |
