Abstract/Contents:"Poa pratensis cv. Kentucky and P. pratensis cv. Wabash were introduced to Qingdao region in 1984. Their morphology, biological characteristics and properties were observed and tested, the grasses were confirmed that they owned the characteristic of cold-tolerant, desert-tolerant, drought-resistant, reviving early, dead and yellow late and green period long (more than 300d), as well as in gay colours, thick and dense of grass layers, easy to propogate and cultivated simply. They were kinds of good grass seeds that established turf. On the basis of quantity of cultivating test and extension practice, the sowing and transplanting techniques of the turfgrasses were summarized, and weeding, cutting, manuring, watering etc. measure of maintaining and managing and prolonging green period were mainly introduced."
