Abstract/Contents: | "The salt tolerant ability of five cool-season turf species was studied during their germination. The result of covariance analysis showed that the difference of the germination rates within species under various salt conditions were not significant (P < 0.05), while significant among the species (P < 0.05). The results of linear regression analysis indicated that the germination rate decreased while the salt content increased, the difference of the negative correlationships was very significant or significant. According to the maximum values of salt stress of the treated species, there was the following order of salt resistance: Creeping Red Fescue>Creeping Bentgrass>Colonial Bentgrass, Kentucky Bluegrass> Fylking Kentucky Bluegrass." |
