| Abstract/Contents: | "Z. japonica cv. Lanyin 3 was introduced from the United States in 1988. Compared with Z. japonica, its turf characteristics, seed production and sod production had been evaluated for 5 years in various locations. The results showed that Lanyin 3 had the character of dark green colour, good texture, rapid stolon growth, high density of turf, traffic tolerance, hot tolerance, disease and insect resistance and easy to manage, similar to Z. japonica. Its field seeds yield in Hainan region was 77kg/hm2, and the natural germination rate was high to 58%. The vegetative plant per one square meter can produce 81m2 sod. Its cold resistant character was bad, and it was fit for growing in subtropical and tropical area of South China. It was a good sports turf grass." |
