| Abstract/Contents: | "Eleven common turf grasses in China were selected to compare their surface cover ratio, above and under ground phytomass. The results showed that: (1) about 70%~80% turf grass roots distributed within the top 10cm soil; (2) among the tested plants the Poa pratensis Wabash, Cynodon dactylon and Carex held had the best performance in surface cover ratio, uniformity adaptability and the capability to environmental disturbs; (3) under the experimental condition, Wabash had the highest above ground phytomass and Fylking with the lowest. In the comparison of above and under ground phytomass, Zoysia japonica and Wabash were the highest, but Fylking ran to the lowest." |
