| Abstract/Contents: | "In this article the nature of turf wear is discussed. It is considered in terms of the two components of turf, the soil and the grass sward, and also in terms of the interaction between them. The relative importance of the effects of wear on the soil and plant components is considered. The simulation of wear under experimental conditions is discussed. Although the primary concern is with turf sown and maintained for sports purposes, the lack of information on some aspects of this subject necessitates the use of examples from work in other areas of research." |
