Abstract/Contents:"The growth and turf quality of Tall Fescue were studied under different mowing heights and frequencies. Analysis of variance showed that the growth mowed at 4 cm height was significantly more than that at 6 cm and 9 cm, yet turf quality was poor at the 4 cm. When mowed at high frequency (twice a week), the growth was significantly more than medium (every week) and high (every two weeks) frequencies, but turf quality was poor for the high frequency. So, it is necessary to carry out mowing at a greater height and less frequency so as to increase turf quality and minimize management. The results also implies that there may be 2 light dormant periods in autumn and winter in Nanjing area."
