Abstract/Contents: | "According to the variable environment and adverse soil condition in Bohai Low Plant, and some problems in turf grass establishment, an integrated evaluation was conducted on growing period and adaptability of 37 varieties among 4 species in the region. The results showed that tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb) is the most suitable one, the Kentucky bluegrass (Pop [Poa] pratensis L.) is a relatively variety, and the Perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) can not be mono-sowed in this region, but it can be mixture planted with tall fescue under a proper ratio. Red fescue (Festuca rubra L.) is likely unsuitable in this condition. The most suitable varieties of tall fescue are Empress, Pixie, Hunt, Common, and Nublue, as well as Award among Kentucky bluegrass." |
