| Abstract/Contents: | "The growth and development characteristics of turf-type perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) were studied in Yellow River irrigation area in Ningxia from 1997 to 1999. The results show that the relationship between leaf emergence rate from May to September and monthly average temperature could be described by the equation: Y=9.4986+0.0624t-0.0104t2, (R=0.9987**). The order of leaves on main stem and an emerging tiller were synchronous to a certain degree. The optimum time for seed harvesting was 26~27 days after anthesis, when DM (dry matter) of the spikelet is the highest with 41.15% of water content." |
