Abstract/Contents: | "The cold-resistance, and changes in SOD enzyme, POD enzyme, and POD isozyme of three varieties of Cynodon dactylon under chilling stress were studied. Based on the degree of cell membrane damage, the varieties from greatest to least cold resistant were Xinnong No. 1 > Kashi > Tifdwarf. The order of cold-resistance was more obvious on rhizomes. The activity of both POD and SOD enzymes showed trends of first increasing, and then decreasing. Plant cold-resistance may have certain positive relationship with their activity and duration of activity. PAGE showed that with increasing cold resistance of the Bermudagrass variety, the more POD isozyme bars there were. No new isozyme bands emerged with chilling injury." |
