| Abstract/Contents: | "An initial study was made into the feasibility of using rockwool as a turfgrass growth substrate. The results showed that turfgrass could grow well on rockwool, but rockwool of relatively low density was more suitable. With the use of rockwool in field turf establishment, the problem of how to bring together the three components of good seed, rockwool, and soil, ought to be resolved. Although rockwool does not have strong water retention ability, as a seedbed cover material, it reduces evaporation from the soil and provides an excellent water saving function." |
