Abstract/Contents:"Nine turfgrass and ten forage varieties were introduced to Kunming from the Barenbrug Group, and detailed measurements were taken from 1998 to 1999. Eight of the turfgrasses exhibited good adaptability, germination, density, leaf color, and drought tolerance. Fescue showed the highest cold and drought tolerance among all the turfgrasses. The ten different forages all exhibited very good characteristics, of which Lolium perenne cv Bronsyn and Medicago sativa cv Eureka exhibited good characteristics of quick growth and higher dry matter at 22618 and 22342 kg/hm2, respectively, enabling them to be cut more times than others."
