Abstract/Contents: | "Six soil free mixtures (I. decayed grass fibre: slag: chicken dung = 3: 1: 1; II. Decayed grass fibre: peat: slag = 2: 2: 1; III. Decayed wood fibre: slag: chicken dung = 3: 1: 1; IV. Decayed wood fibre: peat: slag = 2: 2: 1; V. peat: slag: chicken dung = 2: 1: 1; VI. Peat : vermiculite: perlite =2: 2: 1; VII. Soil.) were used as growth medium for perennial ryegrass turf establishing experiment. The physical and chemical properties of the mixtures were analyzed and the effects on sod establishment were tested. The results showed that content of the organic matter (OM) , available N,available K in the mediums were much higher than soil except available P. Medium IV had a lower pH of 5. 37. The aboveground biomass from medium I, III, IV, V, VI was significantly higher than control (soil), no remarkable difference between medium II and control, however, the underground biomass between treatments and control did not give any difference. All the mediums were ideal for soil free sod production, but medium II was the best if taking comprehensive consideration." |
