| Abstract/Contents: | "The growth and physiological characteristics of Poa pratensis var. anceps cv. Qinghai during the process of seed development was investigated. The results indicated that, with the seed developing process progressed, the seed water content decreased, seed dry weight increased, and germination rate, germination index, vigor index as well as seedling length increased significantly (P<0.05); while seed electrical conductivity rate reduced constantly, dehydrogenate enzyme content increased firstly and then decreased, starch content increased and soluble carbohydrate content decreased (P<0.05). The seed maturity, which could be estimated by seed water content, germination vigor index and physiological characteristics, was 28, 28-36 and 24-28 days after the flowering, respectively. Thus, seed maturity of P. pratensis var. anceps cv. Qinghai was 28 days after anthesis, when seed water content reached 35%." |
