Abstract/Contents:"Based on the observation of some morphological characters and the test of artificial drought stress, adaptability to drought stress in soil and morphological changes under drought stress in soil of five turfgrasses, i.e. Cynodon dactylon, Zoysia tenuifolia, Eremochloa ophiuroide [ophiuroides], Axonopus compressus and Deamodium styracifolium, widely planted in south subtropical area of Guangdong province were studied primarily. We also analyzed the relationship between the drought resistance of the five turfgrasses and their biological characters. The results show that the abilities of drought resistance for the five turfgrasses are from strong to weak as follows: Cynodon dactylon > Zoysia tenuifolia > Eremochloa ophiuroides Axonopus compressus > Deamodium styracifolium."
