Abstract/Contents:"When the grasses of Zoysia tenuifolia Willd Trin grew under 1 °C / -2°C (day/night) for 3 d in the climatron and -3 °C of the lowest temperature of the winter in the open lawn, the untreated grasses became yellow and could not induce antifreeze protein. Compared with the control, the grasses pre-treated with "leaf-growing-reagent for warm-season turf" maintained green, increased protein contents, raised the activity of CAT, increased activities of more than 10 protein bands, induced two new protein bands (Band Rm 0.51 and Band Rm 0.71), induced to produce antifreeze proteins. We first reported that "leaf-growing-reagent for warm-season turf" could induce the plants, such as Z. tenuifolia, which could not be acclimated by cold to produce antifreeze protein."
