| Abstract/Contents: | "The growth speed, tillering dynamic and the response of Pn to PFD and CO2 of two varieties (Sunshine and Wild) of Vetiveria zizanioides at seedling stage were studied in this paper. The results showed that there was significant difference in plant heights and daily increase between the two cultivars. Wild grew faster than Sunshine. Significant difference was observed between the two varieties in terms of total tiller number and tillers at different time periods. Wild had tillering peak in late June while Sunshine was in mid July. Total tiller number had significantly exponential correlation with plant density (P<0.01). Both varieties had similar light saturation point. The light compensation point of Wild was obviously lower than that of Sunshine, but its Pn and AQY were higher, which meant that Wild had higher light use efficiency, lower CO2 saturation point and higher CO2 compensation point." |
