Abstract/Contents:"According to its development, weather degree and hardness, red sandstone can be divided into four classes. 70% of the slopes along Hengda expressway were red sandstone; among which most of them belong to class II and class III, mainly semi-weathered. Based on the two-year construction practice, the authors thought that ameliorated External-Soil Spray Seeding could be applied to class II and III semi-weathered red sandstone with slope ration lower than 1:1 to reduce the cost and speed vegetation formation. For those red sandstones belonging to class II and III ones with slope ratio greater than 1:1, and class IV with less weathering, Spray Seeding with nets was suitable for mechanized operation, slopes and vegetation stabilization."
