| Abstract/Contents: | "The study overviewed the research and utilization status of Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) abroad, and the main production modes of planting L. multiflorum in winter paddy field of southern agriculture region in China. Italian ryegrass was mainly used for the production of cattle and dairy cow; it was also used for the biologic recovery of phosphor polluted soil abroad. In China, by nearly twenty years generalization, the techniques of winter cropping of Italian ryegrass has become a representative ecological agriculture mode of south China. The utilization modes of 'Rice-Italian ryegrass-Dairy cow', 'Rice-Italian ryegrass-Meat goose' 'Rice-Italian ryegrass-Pig', etc. have been well developed. The main limitation factors on further generalization of feeding herbivorous livestock and poultry with Italian ryegrass and needed research aspects were discussed." |
