Abstract/Contents: | "The paper reported by the present is a field study on grass grub control by intensive stocking rate of sheep on a robbing scale onto the ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) and white clover (Trifolium repens L.) mixed pasture in the West Guizhou Highland Area. Shorttern [Shortterm] intensive stocking rate of sheep had a significant effect on grass grub population dynamics, with decreasing trend in population whenever high stocking rates were imposed somewhat. It was proved that the stocking rate of 3000 sheep/hm2/day for 4 days in treatment had the most beneficial killing effect on the insect pest and meatimely the better potential for the recovery of the damaged pasture during our observation." |
