Abstract/Contents:"With the application of sewage sludge compost to ryegrass, red fescue, bentgrass, white clover and manila grass, good responses were observed among them, including increased biomass, prolonged turf green period and improved physical and chemical properties of the soil. It was shown that the application was safe, without damages on these turfgrasses caused by Cd and Hg from the compost; and when the application was less than 9 kilograms per square metre, there were no pollution problems related to nitrates through leaching and runoff."
