| Abstract/Contents: | "The effect of row width and fertilizer amount on 'Lanyin 3' zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica) seed yield was observed in Shenzhen during 1993~1994, and the observations on the yield of seeds and the number of seed heads were analysed by regression. It was shown that the yield and the number of heads obtained from other treatments with a row width of 10 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm or 60 cm. The yield of seeds was highly correlated with the number of seed heads, and 76.6% of the yield could be attributed to the number of seed heads formed. A fertilizer application of 100 kg nitrogen, 50 kg P2O5 and 50 kg K2O per hectare was recommended as an economical way for increasing the number of reproductive shoots of zoysiagrass, and hence increasing the yield of seeds." |
