Abstract/Contents: | "The playing quality of turf in the Beijing Workers' Stadium was investigated in the game season of 1996. In general, the indices appraised, including ball bounce, surface hardness and friction, have met the international standards. It was noticed that soil compacting was a major factor bringing about adverse effects to the turf, and, therefore, an improvement in the composition of the soil and overseeding with cool-season grasses would improve the stability of the turf and keep the sport ground green in a prolonged period." |
