| Abstract/Contents: | "Leaf spot (blight) of Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) in Beijing was caused by Drechslera poae (Baudys) Shoem. This study on the biological characteristics of the pathogen indicated: the optimum temperature for conidia germination was 16~32°C, for coenobium growth was 24~32 °C; the extracted sap from bluegrass leaves had a significant stimulating effect on spore germination; at 24 °C conidia were produced more than at other temperatures, with the highest produce on PS2A medium; at 20 °C and 25 °C the disease indices were the highest. It was also shown that fungicide mancozeb of 70% concentration, dithane M-45 of 80% and iprodione of 50% had very good preventive and protective effects against the disease." |
