Abstract/Contents:"Fifteen varieties of F. arundinaces [arundinacea] introduced from foreign countries were assessed for genetic diversity by RAPD DNA analysis using twelve primers selected from 60 arbitrary primers. They amplified a total of 85 DNA bands of which 59 DNA bands (69.41%) were polymorphic: the average number of polymorphic DNA bands amplified varied from 0.373 to 0.932 sa [as] assessed by NTSYS-PC software. A DNA molecular dendrogram was established for 15 varieties of F. arundinaces [arundinacea] based on UPGMA analysis of the genetic similarity matrix. Three groups were idnetified [identified] based on a standard of 0.68 similarity coefficient in the dendrogram, "Triplet" and "Pixie" each constituted a group and the other varieties clustered together as a third group."
