Abstract/Contents:"Plants with grey patch disease were collected from golf greens at the Yajian international golf course of Xi'an and the 21 century training golf course of Zhengzhou during 2003-2005. Pathogens isolated from diseased plants were tested by Koch's postulates and were mainly Curvularia spp. with an optimum pH for growth of 6 to 8 and temperature of 25-30°C. Re-inoculation indicated that C. lunata and C. inaequalis had the sgtrongest virulence and resulted in a disease incidence of more than 80% with the same symptoms as found in the field, whereas disease incidence from Fusarium spp. and other isolates ranged from 46.7% to 0. Our results showed that Curvularia spp. was the major pathogen of grey patch disease on golf greens."
