Abstract/Contents: | "In Norway after a fairly mild winter 1974/1975 diseases of turf due to low temperature fungi were generally light. Fusarium nivale was commonly found, but Typhula incarnata only occasionally. Typhula ishikariensis was found at higher elevations. The turf damage from winter traffic is discussed. The importance of good drainage, good surface water run-off as well as proper design is stressed. In Denmark and southern Sweden Corticium fuciforme was found in early spring 1975. New ideas for control of fairy rings are considered. In Saskatchewan the author is looking for mild fairy rings for use as inoculum for soil in order to hasten the natural process of antagonism and `growing out' of rings." |
