Abstract/Contents: | Methods discussed for improving worn and compacted playing fields include sanding followed by aeration with a machine, spiking and manually filling the holes with fine sand (in very compacted areas such as goal mouths), aeration followed by fertilizer application, renovation of badly worn areas by laying down rolls of prepared sods, and silt drainage. |
