| Abstract/Contents: | The shoot and root growth of a range of grasses and other turf species in the first 4 months after sowing were assessed and the results used in the production of seed mixtures suitable for rapidly stabilizing various types of slopes, verges and central grass strips along roads and motorways. Methods of seeding and the influence of soil type, soil preparation and climate on the establishment of roadside vegetation in Switzerland are discussed. |
