Abstract/Contents: | "Marasmius oreades (Bolt, ex Fr. ) Fr. produces cyanogenic compounds that damage the roots of Festuca rubra, Poa pratensis, and Agrostis tenuis. A toxin was shown to be present in the infested soil, artificial substrate, and sporophores. Mycelium produced hydrogen cyanide (HCN). The mycelium of 52-day-old cultures produced 50 to 75 ppm of HCN each 24 hours." |
