Abstract/Contents: | A method of draining water from the turf surface is described, using an instrument that will insert vertical bands of sand at intervals through the soil. Three-quarters or even nine-tenths of the rainfall can be removed in a few seconds. The sand slits are emptied via drains or by connecting them with a permeable subsurface layer. |
