Abstract/Contents:"During the course of the 1996 year, Brooks Diagnostics Limited diagnosed diseases from, turfgrass samples submitted from Alberta. By far the most commonly encountered disease of turfgrass was pink snow mold which is caused by the fungus Fusarium nivale (Syn. Microdochium nivale). However, brown patch (Rhizoctonia solani), pythium blight (Pythium spp.), summer patch (Magnaporthe poae), anthracnose (Colletotrichum graminicola) and stripe smut (Ustilago striiformis) were also confirmed. Most samples diagnosed were found to be infected with more than one fungal disease. Percent samples infected with various diseases are also documented in this report."
