| Abstract/Contents: | Residual responses to sulfur applications on 7/12/86 Kentucky bluegrass were evaluated in 1987. Treatments were Thiolux, Lesco Microprill, Lesco water degradable, Frit-sul-ate and Cleary's Flowable, each at 10 or 20 lbs/sq ft. Few visual differences were noted except for residual injury from the 20 lb application of Thiolux. There were higher clipping rates in May and June of 1987 on plots receiving Cleary's Flowable. There was no meaningful effect of sulfur treatment on soil pH. The use of sulphur from Cleary's flowable sulfur should be considered experimental until more is known. Tabulated data includes treatment, pH of soil at 0-1 inch, and 1-2 inch, clipping weight, turf quality ratings and turf density. |
