| Abstract/Contents: | A study was conducted to evaluate the phytotoxicity of three rates of fenoxaprop (Acclaim) on a creeping bentgrass variety trial. The varieties were: Carmen, Penncross, Penneagle, Prominent, Emerald, Seaside, and Toronto. (This list is in order of least injured to most injured.) The turfgrass was maintained as a golf green, mowed at 0.19" treated with fertilizers and fungicides as needed. The experimental design was a two factor factorial with a split, with treatments replicated three times. Fenoxaprop was applied once at the rates of none (check) 0.08, 0.012, 0.18 lb/A. Visual evaluations were recorded at 1 week intervals, from 1 to 4 weeks after treatment. Carmen, Penncross, and Penneagle were the least injured while Toronto was severely damaged. All varieties recovered after 4 weeks after application. The table lists the effects of three application rates and the check. |
