| Abstract/Contents: | A study was conducted to evaluate which herbicide, plant growth regulator (PGR) or combination of herbicide and PGR would result in the greatest establishment of overseeded creeping bentgrass into annual bluegrass. Treatments were Roundup, Roundup + prograss, Cutless, Cutless + Prograss, Embark, Embark + Prograss, and a control. The area was overseeded with 2 lb/M Penncross creeping bentgrass. Cutless was applied 2 weeks, Roundup 12 days, and Embark 2 days prior to seeding. Prograss was first applied 3, 4, 5, or 6 weeks after emergence. Herbicide treatments significantly influenced the establishment of overseeded creeping bentgrass. Roundup (62%) and Roundup + Prograss (50%) treated plots had significantly more creeping bentgrass than the control (5%). Tabulated data include the treatment rates, date of application, and percent creeping bentgrass cover. |
