| Abstract/Contents: | A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of cultivation and seeding rate on the establishment of overseeded creeping bentgrass into annual bluegrass. Seeding rates were 1, 2, and 4 lb/M Penncross creeping bentgrass. The cultivation treatments were vertical mowing, coring, and no cultivation. Seeding at 4 lb/M resulted in more creeping bentgrass than the other rates. The vertical mowing resulted in significantly more creeping bentgrass while there was no difference between coring and no cultivation. Although seeding rate and vertical mowing resulted in significantly more creeping bentgrass cover, both factors increased establishment less than 10%. |
