Abstract/Contents:"Fungicidd treatments were evaluated on an experimental green at Purdue University. The turf area received conventional golf course care and was maintained at 0.25 in height. Treatments were applied to 3.3 x 6.6 ft plots arranged in a randomized complete block design with 3 replications. Treatments were applied with a hand held CO-2 pressurized sprayer with TSS SX hollow cone nozzles at 40 psi and at a rate of 2 gal/1000 sq ft. All treatments were first applied on 28 May except for MON 24017 50WP and Tersan 1991 50DF. Treatments with a 14 day spray interval were also applied on 28 May, 11, 25 Jun, 9 and 23 Jul. Treatments with a 21 day spray interval were also applied on 28 May, 18 Jun, and 9 Jul. Treatments with a 28 day spray interval were also applied 28 May and 25 Jun. MON 24017 50WP was first applied on 11 Jun. Spray applications for the 14-day interval applications were 11 Jun, 25 Jun, and 9 Jul; 28-day interval dates were 11 Jun and 9 Jul; 42-day interval dates were 11 Jun and 23 Jul. Tersan 1991 50DF was applied on 11 Jun and 25 Jun and 23 Jul. Disease ratings were made on 24 Jun, 1 Jul, 22 Jul, and 12 Aug. Temperatures were above normal and humidity below normal during the test period, with rainfall normal in May, but well below normal from early Jun to mid-Aug. Dollar spot appeared in small amounts just prior to the first spraying date on 28 May. The disease intensity remained at low to moderate levels until the third week of Jul at which time it was extremely severe throughout the test area. Among the experimental fungicides ASC 66825 and SN 84364 70WG applied at 14- and 21-day intervals gave good control. Chipco 26019 2F + Exp 10064B 1.67SC, Chipco 26019 50WDG, Cleary's 3336 50WP, Daconil 2787 4.17FL, Prostar 50WP + Sentinel 40WG, Sentinel 40WG, Spotless 25WP and Tersan 1991 50DF gave excellent control. Rubigan 1AS gave excellent control after the second 14-day spray treatment. Chipco 26019 2F maintained effective control with the 21-day spray interval, but not at the 28-day interval during heavy disease pressure in Jul and Aug. Eagle 40WP gave good control with the 14 day spray interval. Severe phytotoxicity was observed for Exp10064B 1.67SC. Moderate phytotoxicity was observed for Prostar 50WP + Sentinel 40WP and Chipco 26019 2F + Exp 10221 2EC."
