| Abstract/Contents: | "The paper summarizes soil tests of golf courses and other turfgrass areas conducted over a 30-year period. The accumulated data show: (1) nitrate tests always show deficient nitrogen when growth is satisfactory and high tests when grass has been injured by disease, insects, or other causes; (2) various methods of sampling and testing often produce conflicting results for phosphorus and potassium depending upon the uniformity of sampling and the type and strength of extractants used. Recommendations are made as to sampling procedure, testing methods, and reporting results." |
