Abstract/Contents: | "Most lawn and turfgrasses in Alabama are propagated vegetatively by sprigs. Low quality is the number one problem encountered by sprig users, and sprig producers face many problems in keeping this high quality. High sprig quality means they are pure sprigs of the best variety, free of mixtures of other varieties, troublesome weeds, grasses and sedges, are live vigorous and healthy, and free of pests. Leading turfgrass producers grow turfgrass sprigs under certification, which maintains high standards to help the producer grow high quality grass, and to guarantee the buyer a reliable source of high quality lawn and turfgrasses." |
