Abstract/Contents: | "Both freshly harvested and stored florets of cocksfoot (Dactylis glomerata) populations from North Norway were dormant at constant germination temperatures. This conditional dormancy was broken by removing the chaff (lemma and palea) by rubbing against a sieve, by alternating germination temperatures, by chilling for three to six weeks, and by gibberellic acid. No such dormancy could be demonstrated in stored seed lots from Denmark, Holland, Wales, Switzerland or Italy." |
