Abstract/Contents:"Grasses were compared to estimate their relative suitability for turf under dry-land and watered conditions. Measurements included growth, ease of cutting, weediness, stand, survival, and density. The suitability of the grasses was ranked on the basis of the measurements taken. Those species most suited for watered turf (Kentucky bluegrass, Merion Kentucky bluegrass, creeping red fescue) did not survive under dry-land conditions, while those best suited for dry land (Russian wild ryegrass, streambank wheatgrass) were least acceptable for watered turf."
