| Abstract/Contents: | The composition of 28 stands of low-growing turf sown along 3 roads between 1963 and 1969 was examined in 1970. The following sown species were often still present: Festuca rubra, Agrostis tenuis, Dactylis glomerata and Lolium perenne and to a lesser extent Festuca ovina, Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium repens and Sanguisorba minor. The most important turf-building grass on rocky soils was Festuca rubra and on sandy soils Festuca ovina. Although they had been sown the following species were absent or rare: Poa spp., Agrostis stolonifera, Deschampsia flexuosa, Bromus secalinus, Trifolium dubium and Anthylis vulneraria. |
